If you guys couldn’t already tell, we here at PAW are not huge into the club scene. But doing our due diligence we went out, sucked it up, and tried the place out.
When we walked up to the bumpin’ club with a red carpet and velvet ropes I actually got a little excited and immediately all the blood in my body rushed to my power source. Once we got inside the club first thing I noticed was that this is not New York buddy, this is Pittsburgh and that Zen should tone down the Asian theme a little bit. The second thing noticed about was the women. Lots of them, all wearing the shirts-as-dresses look that is quite popular right now. {Edit while this look is very popular, only certain girls should attempt this look. You may think you are hiding you belly, but all you are hiding is the self realization that you eat too much}
Once we got past the under dressed overweight heffers, it was time to drink. We went over to the bar and had some drinks that were actually reasonably prices for a club and started having a good time. The beers were flowing, shots were being poured, and one person who I won’t mention because I’m completely ashamed of them ordered an Asian inspired cocktail and the party was started. Roughly 20 minutes into our drink-fest something came over me that bothered me to no end. Where the hell was I?, I knew I was in station square, but was I really in the middle of the mall. I mean this would be great if I needed some cheese, or a new pair of Keds, but I need booze and it was not coming fast enough.
Overall I really don’t have a lot negative things to say about Zen, mainly because I simple do not have much to say about the place at all. If you want to change it up and play K-fed for the night, go to Zen. It won’t become your spot if you are seriously trying to black out, because you will spend way too much time getting caught up with the gorgeous (read: trashy) women and start dreaming of Vegas. Then you realize that this is Pittsburgh, and the girl you are lusting after already has a kid.

I love Pittsburgh clubs who forget it’s Pittsburgh and not L.A. or Vegas.
Even better, I love the guys rocking suits and skinny ties who obviously have never been to either L.A. or Vegas. They watch the Hills for the fashion and how to carry yourself in public.

IDK, i guess because the hot chicks came throughout the weeks after opening night cuz when i went i went to VIP which is relatively cheap considering Free Drinks until the other clubs close, and not only that the fact that no matter where you go or how crowded it is you will always be able to get a drink and get hammered if thats what you want. Being born in Manhattan and raised through out the five boroughs in NY to my college years i must say this club did amazing for bringing a night life to Pitt, aside sports. Maybe the people who want the Vegas Atmosphere should give this club a shot. I did and it did a great job.

Zen has a bunch of stuck up dike girls. I got choked by a girl for dancing with her friend then she tried fighting me and got five guys to try fighting me and i get tossed out wtf. I will never go back its not that great anyway.

This place is a fucking joke. It redefines Pittsburgh nightlife alright…from bad to pathetic. The dress code isn’t enforced so be prepared to shuffle through smoky crowds of slobs and douchebags. Drinks and VIP are way overpriced. The manager thinks he’s the coolest person in the city because he lets a bunch of girls in. Talent pool is really low…hardly any girls worth talking to yet having sex with.
