Margarita Mama’s Bar Review
Margarita Mama’s is one of the hottest dance clubs in Pittsburgh, and with nightly drink specials and chicks wearing small amounts of clothing there is no wonder why there is always a line out the door and a packed dance floor.
In our minds there is one thing that keeps people coming back to Margarita Mama’s . . .drink specials! Throughout the course of a weekend the specials range from $1 well drinks & $1 bottles to a free cover with a college ID, a great deal either way. One note of caution, you get what you pay for, so your rum and coke probably has a lot more coke in it than you would want.
The crowd at Margarita Mama’s runs the gamut in terms of age, from young 20’s to mid 40’s the crowd is about as eclectic age wise as you will see at a Pittsburgh bar. One nice thing that Margarita mama’s does to combat this is have a dj that plays music that everyone can enjoy. On Thursday nights, a DJ from 96.1 Kiss FM comes down and cranks up the crowd and gets the party started for the weekend.
Two of the nicer features at Mama’s are their ability to host parties of any kind and their outdoor deck. We here at Pittsburgh After Work have not been to any parties hosted at Margarita mama’s but from what we have seen they look to be a great time. The outdoor deck is awesome during the summer and with waitresses running around bringing drinks it’s a great place to be during the summer.
One HUGE negative towards Margarita Mama’s is parking. I know we didn’t really penalize Buckhead Saloon and that is because of the Station Square right outside the door. The problem with Margarita Mama’s is that the only place to park with out a big walk is around $7 and it’s a flat fee, so if you want to leave you have to eat the cost.
Overall Mama’s is a great place to go if you want to go and have a great time, listen to some music and hang out on the outdoor deck. Just remember to bring your college ID and you’ll have a great time at a bargain price.

Margarita Mama’s was my favorite places to go before Buckheads came around. For a long time, it was the only place that my friends wanted to go for reasons that you mentioned. They have a large dance floor and their outdoor deck is awesome.
Good review!

ahh…Margarita Mama’s, Pittsburgh’s answer to Studio 54. Minus the beautiful people, style, hipness, and sophistication.
