The Double Wide Grill Bar Review
The Double Wide Grill
The Double Wide Grill was definitely one of the more difficult reviews that PAW has done over the past few months. This was because after my first visit there I hated the place. The only special they had was from 10-12 and i was there at 8, thus having to pay full price for the few beers i was able to drink. The wait staff was slow and shitty and I was thirsty and getting pissed. When we left I vowed that I would never come back and wished complete damnation on all the assholes who worked at that shit hole.
So with my luck being what it is (completely shitty) a group of people from work decided to head there for a happy hour. I immediately started refusing to go, saying it was awful and how everyone there would have an awful time, that they would poison the food, and drew a picture of how all the waitresses were fat. Once I settled down and stop being an emo prick I eventually agreed to go and hoped for the best.
Once we got there and started drinking I started too warm up to the place. The wait staff was doing a much better job bringing us drink and even tolerated our ridiculous drink requests. At this point I was starting to like the place but still had it in my mind that the place was evil. I was still finding absurd reasons to hate this place even though everyone I was with having a good time. I was ranting that their patio was stupid and the outdoor heaters were awful and a fire hazard (although the patio is great and the heaters are a nice touch). Then I started complaining about how I thought the corn hole game going on outside was rigged so that I would not win (when it was really just me being in an alcohol induced coma).
Finally by the end of the night I did start to like place and really enjoyed being outside and hanging out on the patio. Other than their ridiculous rule that you are allowed to have your dog at the bar I really did enjoy the place. But seriously, why the hell do you need to have your yapping purse rat with you at all times. You are not Paris Hilton, and that shit is not hot.

This place is one of the most inconsistent places I’ve ever been to. I’ll be honest, I go all the time, but I just hope it’s on a “good day”. It’s just amazing how the same menu item can be a completely different meal depending on the day. The service definitely varies too…but during the summer, it’s hard to find a better atmosphere.
