Pittsburgh Steak Company Bar & Restaurant Review
The Pittsburgh Steak Company has long been one of the best places in Pittsburgh to enjoy a well prepared steak and sip on some red wine. Great food, good drinks, and a live band are some major draws to one of South Side’s best restaurants.
The bar area at Pittsburgh Steak Company is not that impressive size wise, but the prices are more than reasonable. Draft beers are around $2.25 and domestic bottles around $2.50, with mixed drinks and wine priced slightly higher (they also have a pretty standard happy hour for Pittsburgh). Also, on Friday nights there is a live band that cranks out jazz and blues music for the bar to enjoy.
Although the bar is a good time and has a cool upscale atmosphere, most people come to the Steak House for the food. The dinner entrées range from chicken richie (strips of chicken sautéed in olive oil with garlic, mushrooms, and banana peppers) to crab stuffed filet (petite filet stuffed with crab meat served with a Bearnaise sauce) with prices ranging from $14-$29. Another few personal Pittsburgh After Work favorites from Pittsburgh Steak Company are the stuffed hot peppers and the French onion soup.
One aspect of the Pittsburgh Steak Company that is not widely known is the room upstairs which is great for hosting parties of all kinds. We are sure it isn’t cheap to rent out the room but it has more than enough space to handle birthday or bachelor parties and with food from the Pittsburgh Steak House and a personal bar tender upstairs it is hard to go wrong.
Overall, Pittsburgh Steak Company is a great choice to go and have a drink and a fantastic meal but don’t try and make it something it isn’t. Go down, eat a steak and relax with a glass of merlot, but save the crazy antics for the other places on Carson farther down in South Side.
