Barry’s Pub Bar Review

Barry’s Pub BarBarry’s Pub is one of the hidden treasures found in Pittsburgh. Barry’s is one of the few places in South Side that actually does have cheap drinks and a relaxed crowd. This is not a place full of men in striped shirts and women in mini skirts, just a bunch of people getting together to have a good time.

The crowd at Barry’s is a refreshing escape from the norm on Carson Street. Barry’s is much more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of place rather than blazers and high heals. Furthermore the music scene at Barry’s very much matches the dress, relaxed and laid back. You will hear some rap and popular music but the juke box seems to be dominated by 80’s and 90’s rock.

There are drink specials everyday and $1 bottles on select beers. Also they sell Red Bull “bomb’s” for $2 (Jager, Berry, & Cherry) which makes this a perfect spot to pre-game and start the night. Not only are the drinks cheap but the bar tenders are easily accessible and they keep the drinks coming. To go along with the drinks, Barry’s offers appetizers and the size of the bar is relatively big and easy to grab a spot for the night. There is also a large area in the back with a big screen and pool table. This is a perfect set up for those who want to have a few cold ones and hang out with their friends.

Overall Barry’s is a great place to go and have a few drinks to get your night started. It is definitely a unique place on Carson Street that invites you to have a good time and hang out.

barrys is the spot to get ready for a night of blackouts. $2 cherry bombs will get you wrecked cheap and quick and there is always some hot chicks there.

Not a huge Barry’s fan…I find the large bar intimidating and cold. I prefer the quaint, rough around the edges feel of Jacks directly next door. Although the only plus at Barry’s is the free popcorn.
