Jerome Bettis’ Grille 36

Jerome Bettis’ Grille 36 Bar ReviewJerome Bettis’ Grille 36, located on the North Shore out side of Hienz Field is definitely a great place to catch a Steelers Game. The combination of a friendly staff, rambunctious crowd and plasmas all over the place make this my personal favorite Pittsburgh sports bar.

The food at Grille 36 is pretty good and they basically fry everything (yes they even have a fried meatloaf hoagie). The portions are huge and the food taste pretty good, definitely better than regular sports bar (ex:Applebee’s) food. Bettis’s also boasts the Taj Mahal of gluttonous eating . . .a 36oz steak (for $36). We are not entirely sure who needs to eat that much meat at once, but if you get the urge to fill yourself well beyond maximum capacity Grille 36 is definitely your place.

Although the food at Grille 36 is damn good, the bar is better. Buckets of beer (5 domestic bottles) are only $10 which is pretty cheap for a place like this. Their other drinks run the gamut from fruity cocktails to still martini’s, you can find a drink that will fit your taste.

Another nice aspect of Grille 36 is that it’s a perfect place to watch a Steelers game. While you may not get a seat directly at the bar (there are tables surrounding the bar area) the actual bar is big enough that you can lean, order a drink and not have to use the poor guy in front of you as a jungle gym.

The crowd for the game at Grille 36 was pretty good and very enthusiastic. Music was pumped through the speakers during any down time during the game. The DJ did a really good job of cutting out the music once the play was about to start and bring back in the color commentary from the TV.

Overall Grille 36 is a great Pittsburgh sports bar. It hits all the essentials, artery clogging food, buckets of beer, and 25+ plasmas playing multiple games. It’s definitely a great place to watch the Steelers game and throw back some cold ones.
