Pittsburgh After Work

Carson City Saloon is flat out a yuppy Pittsburgh bar and while most yuppy bars drive me completely nuts this one actually does a decent job of mixing up the music and crowd so that the bar turns out to be moderately tolerable. Actually to be completely fair, the DJ at Carson City is pretty good, which he has to be to overcome the combination of popped collar’s and and emotion baggage the yuppies from the ‘burbs bring.

In our opinion NAKAMA is Pittsburgh’s best hibachi restaurant. Additionally their sushi is fantastic, they have a great atmosphere, and the drinks go down smooth . . . but nothing is perfect. You literally can’t move at all in the place, its like you are trapped in a Volkswagon Bug with the Steelers offensive line and getting a drink can take longer than finding a tickle-me-elmo did in 1997.
